Requirements
All parish staff and volunteers are required by the Archdiocese of Newark to complete the Protecting God’s Children training, especially when working with the children of the parish. Retraining is required every five (5) years. Training will be provided at St. Cassian in the school gym on dates announced in advance, or you can register for training with the Archdiocese of Newark.
There are two types of training workshops:
Protecting God’s Children (First time Participants)
Keeping God’s Promise Alive (Workshop Renewal)
To register for training with the Archdiocese of Newark (VIRTUS):
- Go to the Child & Youth Protection page here and on the right side there is a sidebar with a topic PGC workshop schedule. This will list all the scheduled workshops in the Newark Archdiocese. Please select one that is convenient for you.
- After you attend the workshop, please send a copy of the Training Attendance certificate to your PGC coordinator, which will be part of your secure volunteer/employment file.
